Venue Spotlight- The Giraffe Shed, Wales
Huge thanks to Jade Maguire Photography for guest writing a fabulous venue spotlight for The Giraffe Shed, in Tregnon, Mid-Wales. It is a brand new venue, which really needs to be on your radar. It’s an absolute DREAM festival wedding location with candy pink rainbow walls, awesome industrial decor and more neon lights than you can shake a stick at. Plus, the perk of the venue being owned by a photographer (the lovely Hannah from Rocksalt Photography) is the dreamy and totally instagram-worthy, light! Take it away, Jade!

“The Giraffe Shed is the sheer definition of alternative- the dreaminess, the views, the quirkiness! From candy pink striped walls on a farm to dreamy light and neon signs, this venue truly is a hidden gem… a gem that deserves to be and will be a real diamond.”
So, why The Giraffe Shed?
“This venue is so well thought out- designed by an amazing photographer, Hannah of Rocksalt Photography, and her wonderful husband- it lies on a plot of an old shed, always nicknamed the Giraffe Shed by their family. The owners say “The shed that stood there before our build was called The Giraffe Shed, named by Neil’s Grandad Archie – we both felt the new shed had to have the same name. Neil, apart from having superhuman powers that no one quite understands, can build pretty much anything Han’s weird little brain thinks up and has the best problem solving techniques known to man.”
“The venue is the exquisite product of Neil’s talented hands and Hannah’s wacky imagination, and their vision is perfection. The light is so perfect, the colour scheme and decor is beyond eccentric but still enough of a blank canvas to really put a couples unique slant on it too. You can definitely tell this venue has been designed by a photographer- I can’t put into words how much of a dream this place is to shoot at. I love the way Hannah and Neil describe it: “Han has had the wedding venue dream for five years after visiting so many weird and wonderful venues as a photographer. She envisioned her dream of a stunning barn wedding venue (Wales just so happened to become the ideal place to set up!) and can’t believe it’s come true. The design of the shed was made through the eyes of a photographer, so bask in the incredible natural light that floods through the floor to ceiling glass wall, the huge epic reclaimed window wall, the pink wall, glowing neon lights, our candy stripe, and rustic burned black wall frontage. “
It’s literally so dreamy, I swear I even asked Hannah if I could move into it!”
“There’s nowhere like us. You should totally get married here.”
When people think of the term of alternative, it means different things and conjours up very different emotions for very different people… but this venue is so GOD DAMN bold, standing proudly on their home farm, gazing dreamily upon the rolling luscious green fields, and complete with their own lake too. So much to explore, and so many incredible adventures to be had!
Friends for life
So there you go, why the heck would you ever consider getting married anywhere else? I for one have been overwhelmingly excited about this venue since I saw the first couple of pink posts and a giraffe pop up on Instagram, every single time I see something new I literally crave to step foot in there again!
A Bad-Ass Styled Shoot
“I feel so lucky i got to shoot there before it’s official launch, and I am so excited that one day soon I will get to shoot a wedding there too. The photos below feature the epic, festival bad-ass themed styled shoot held at The Giraffe Shed, with the most wicked couple and dreamy styling, coupled with some of the coolest hand selected suppliers in the industry. It just worked brilliantly!!
Roll on seeing all the epicness, love and madness this venue brings to the world this year, 2019 is the year of The Giraffe Shed!”
