Another little corker for you today! This beautiful city centre wedding at the Castlefield Rooms in Manchester is just stunning, with a gorgeous canal-side venue, beautiful flowers and decorations, and stunning photography by Kieran Bellis Photography.

Kieran says: “This gorgeous pair steal my heart and they were an absolute dream to photograph. Nicki & Tom booked me during the tail end of last year when their fabulous wedding co-ordinator Becky from the Castlefield Rooms recommended me. They said they’d been looking over for my work for a while and they just knew they wanted me to photograph their wedding. When I met up with them, they really liked my professional, but still fun approach to wedding photography, and that I would capture beautiful images whilst barely noticing me on the day.”

“On the wedding day, we took a little wander around Castlefield, the perfect urban backdrop to this amazing wedding. The brick walls, canal and the battered wooden doors – a photographers dream! As soon as I started snapping away, you could just tell how much Nicki & Tom love each other so much, and are so at ease in each others company; their huge beaming smiles, the soft romantic looks… I think it really shows in their pictures, but I suppose I’m a bit biased! When party time came around, boy, was the dancefloor wild! So much dancing action, I think I got some of my best dancefloor shots of the year right here in this wedding! Thanks so much for having me Nicki and Tom!”

I particularly love the table flowers by Frog flowers, and the stunning details in the brides dress. These pretty details contrast perfectly with the urban backdrop of Deansgate, with its faded industrial grandeur, that Manchester does so well. You’re going to love it! Scroll down to check it out!

The Couple’s story…

“We met in our first year at Durham University. We were in flats next door to each other but didn’t start going out until our second year. Tom managed to plan the proposal under the radar, so it was very unexpected and a great surprise while we were on holiday! Tom succeeded in picking the ring out himself and stealthily managed to get the right ring size by measuring one of my other rings. He then got it through customs at both Manchester Airport and Frankfurt Airport whilst travelling to the US without me realising, to eventually propose in a sunny harbour close to San Francisco, just over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Tom actually used to work at our venue, The Castlefield Rooms, in Deansgate, Manchester, during university but it has since been renovated and remodelled. We went for a friends birthday and the rooms were amazing; beautifully decorated and the food was delicious so we decided it was a great fit! We were both pretty relaxed about what we wanted and the venue offered a full package in which they did all the flowers, decorations, table plans, food etc so it took a lot of pressure of of us to find all the separate components ourselves.

We were really lucky with wedding planning. My bridesmaids and I all got our dresses on our first shopping trip – it was supposed to just be us looking to get ideas but we all found dresses we loved and they were in the January sales!! We got married at the Registry Office in Manchester town centre so that was also very easy to sort and luckily Tom’s aunt works at a florist so she very kindly sorted out bouquets and buttonholes for us.

The main piece of advice I would give is to make sure you create the day that you want, and not want you think other people will enjoy, and also don’t worry too much about the small details as everything will work out on the day! And definitely get a photobooth – the guests all loved it and we have some great pictures to keep!

Venue – The Castlefield Rooms –  Becky our wedding coordinator was absolutely amazing and saved us so much stress! Photographer – Kieran Bellis Photography Band – The Rhodes Brothers (Jonny Ross Music) – incredible singers, they did 2 acoustics sets for us and then later stayed on to DJ until 2am – we got so many compliments off our guests about these guys – they knew how to please a crowd! Make up / hair – Alice Marie Rouillon – Alice did an amazing job for both me and my 3 bridesmaids, I cannot recommend her enough. Flowers – Bees Bouquets for bouquets and buttonholes. Frog Flowers for the table / venue decorations.
