I came across this wedding on photographer Matt Ebbage’s website and immediately wanted to feature it on the blog! I love it when couples follow their own path and do their day their way and Claudia and Luke most certainly did that! Claudia works as a fashion stylist so it’s no surprise that the whole day looked amazing! I’m going to let Claudia and Luke tell you all about their wedding planning process…

 The Introductions

We met through one of Claudia’s best friends and got engaged on a yacht at the Grand Floridian watching the fireworks at Disneyworld Magic Kingdom in Florida! Luke said he always knew when we bought Disneyworld it would be the perfect place for the proposal as I am Disney obsessed and it had always been my absolute dream to go.

Wedding Planning is a go-go…

We knew immediately we didn’t want our day to be your ‘typical’ wedding.  We wanted everything to be different, super fun and colourful so we didn’t have a specific colour theme, it was a mix of everything.

Marleybrook House was actually the first venue we visited and we just knew it was the one!! We didn’t know of anybody who had got married here so it ticked the box of not being your typical popular venue and we loved how small and intimate it was but it had so many quirks which is what made us fall in love with it. It WAS perfect!!!

The lovely final touches…

My dress was the easiest thing for me! Being a fashion stylist I knew what designer I wanted and what sort of style. So I reached out to the designer to find the nearest stockist and I went along with 5 styles in mind that I wanted to try. I didn’t end up choosing any of these styles I had in mind!

We got engaged on the Sunday, flew home on the Monday and I bought my dress on Saturday that same week after two visits to the same shop with a trip to a different shop in between to try a blush pink dress I also had my eye on but the Ariel dress was the winner!

The things I struggled with the most was my cutlery and crockery, me being me I didn’t want your standard silver cutlery and plain white crockery which was all my caterers provided so I ended up sourcing my own. This was so difficult!! I knew I wanted gold cutlery and I couldn’t find anywhere in Kent that did it and nowhere else would deliver all the way to my venue. I ended up finding a company called Helene Millot that had the exact cutlery I wanted with gorgeous white crockery with a gold patterned edge and it was perfect. They were still too far away from my venue but they asked if I had anybody who lived closer to them that they could potentially get it delivered to. My sister then became my saving Grace, she lived in Hertfordshire about 45 mins away from this company so they ended up delivering it to my sister!! She drove down crockery and cutlery for 102 guests which filled every single last bit of space in her tiny Citroen C1!!

Luke was also adamant he wanted a red vintage mustang at the wedding as we drove a red mustang in Florida when we got engaged so he found the perfect one in Sussex and drove two hours to collect it!

The Full Day in Pictures…

Venue: Marleybrook House Kent

Photography: Matt Ebbage Photography

The best photographer we could’ve ever wished for. I think everybody at my wedding fell in love with Matt and commented on how lovely and amazing he was. Our day wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Dress: Riki Dalal bought via Dress Dreams in Sevenoaks Kent

I would highly recommend them, they were amazing and so friendly from start to finish. Big shout out to Helen and Shereen who were the loveliest people.

Flowers: J’s Perfections

Jo was so lovely, accommodating and amazing!! They made every single one of my ideas possible and totally got my colour scheme.

Videographer:  M+J Wedding films

James actually did my sisters wedding a few years prior and I loved her video so much so it was a no brainer that we would use them for our special day.

Cutlery & Crockery – Helene Millot

Helene was so accommodating and lovely. They let me have it for a few extra days to suit the timings of my sister coming down and returning home for my wedding!

Make-up artists – Avril Jarrettm and Nikita Fuller. Avril did my make-up along with a few of the bridesmaids and Nikita did a couple of the other bridesmaids. Both were incredible! Avril had done my make-up a couple of times prior to my wedding and I wouldn’t have had anybody else do it, she always gets what I want and does it perfectly every time. Violinist –  Jenny was amazing and learned all of my random requests of songs for our ceremony whilst the guests were being seated.

Singer – Nike sang during our wedding reception on a piano and she was incredible. She set the perfect mood and everybody commented on how beautiful her voice was. Wedding Performers – hired from The Big Day Entertainment We always said we would have ‘Be Our Guest’ from Beauty & The Beast to be played once the food started being served, so Luke had arranged dancers to perform it as a surprise to even me on the day! It was the highlight of my day as well as my guests, it truly was amazing and such a special touch. The Cake Fairy Jade really took my ideas on board and decorated it beautifully!!!
