Absolutely fell in love with this stunning, bold and beautiful styled shoot the moment Jenna Kathleen Photography submitted it. The florals, the lighting, the styling- just incredible. The whole thing looks like it has just fallen from the wedding planning pages of Pinterest – and that, strangely enough, is where Jenna got her inspiration.
The Inspiration
She says: “We’ve all been there. You open up the Pinterest app for a quick flick through, and 40 minutes later you’re learning how to crochet a dinosaur hat for your cat. No, just me? Okay… Pinterest can be an amazing tool, especially when planning a wedding. If, like me, you’re a visual person it’s the perfect platform to start collecting inspiration and formulating ideas- and that’s exactly how I started thinking about this shoot. Now, I don’t know about you, but once I get an idea, it is literally all I can think about, so straight away, I threw together a mood board and started contacting suppliers. A few weeks later, my whirlwind vision of a boho bridal shoot in an industrial setting, with colourful summer vibes and a Moroccan touch was brought to life!”
The Suppliers
Jenna put together an incredible team. I love the bouquet and flower crown by Orchis Floral Design and the stunning backdrop by The Word is Love. Jenna styled the shoot herslef with props from Aphelion Events. Amy, the gorgeous model looked stunning in Destination Romance gowns Mila and Madison, supplied by Louise Perry Bridal, hair by Kelly Hanks Hair Design and Make-Up by Arianna Bowler Makeup Artist. The Arches, Dean Clough forms the perfect industrial backdrop.
Jenna adds “I was incredibly lucky to be able to collaborate with such a talented bunch of suppliers at such short notice, especially as we were all busy at the start of wedding season. I am hugely grateful for everyone who took part and making this day amazing and as beautiful as it was to photograph!”
How To Steal The Look
Jenna used bright, bold colours and Moroccan influences to inspire the look. Combining jewel tones and large, bold blooms is the perfect place to start. Bright ribbons and mis-matched colourful glassware, along with industrial touched like brick walls and Edison Bulbs complement the boho bridal styling brilliantly.
When it comes to styling, Jenna says: “I had a lot of fun trying my hand at styling, which was quite daunting given the amount of experience I’d had (*ahem* zero), but it just goes to show if you like the idea of a DIY wedding or you’re on a budget, it is possible to create something that looks good and is completely unique and personal to you. If you’re dressing your own wedding, my advice would be to not overthink it. As long as you’re happy with the way it looks that’s all that really matters!
